Here's my new scripture to help me replace doubt:
"You will keep me in perfect peace,
all who trust in You,
all whose thoughts are fixed on You!"
Isaiah 26:3

Across the Kitchen Table FAQs
Q: What is "Across the Kitchen Table?"
A: It is where we pretend that we all live close enough to walk to each other's houses, have a cup a tea, and share whatever is on our hearts. It's an opportunity for us to see the authors behind the blogs and make sure y'all are actually living human beings and not robots. (ha, ha!)
Q: Do I have to have a vlog in order to link up this week?

Q: Do I have to have a vlog in order to link up this week?
A: Absolutely not!
Q: Does my video have to have a specific point?
A: Um, no. Today, I'm talking about doubt.
Q: Is it okay if I say "like" and "um" and "just" a lot in my video?
A: Of course. Remember, this is not about perfection. This is about being real.
Q: What would you say if I told you that I can't blog because I'm not pretty enough?
A: I'd tell you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator. And that you need to join on Wednesdays for our series, "beheld in a different Light."
Q: I didn't do a vlog today because I'm still trying to work up the courage. Will you be doing this again?
A: Yes! Every first Monday of the month, I'll host another edition of "Around the Kitchen Table."
Q: I have questions about how to make a vlog. Can I contact you?
A: Yep. You can get me at jenfergie2000 @ me. com.
Q: How do you feel about link-up communities, Jen?
A: If you join 'em, make sure you visit a few people that have linked up, too. And leave an encouraging word for them, too.
Q: Can we invite our friends?
A: That goes without saying! We are an all-inclusive community!

You are just the cutest thing, Jen. You say such profound things, too. Like this: "I choose to doubt." Ouch. It feels painful when you say it like that, but it IS painful. And I need to stop making that choice myself.
ReplyDeleteRoman 8:1 is one of my go-to verses when I doubt:
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
No, none, nada. Love that!
I adore how you say "all of y'all". And you know me - I am the queen of doubt, especially doubt over being able to do the things God has given me to do. Which is so silly, because if He gave it to us, of course He's going to equip us for it. I just don't always remember that.
ReplyDeleteMy go-to Scripture when I am full of doubt is "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
Jen, I love what your shared here. My verse when doubt starts to creep in is Matthew 19:26: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I have it written on a dry erase board sitting on an easel in my kitchen as a reminder.
ReplyDeleteIf I could video myself watching your vlog, you'd probably get a huge kick out of it. I smile at the screen and lean in, and I nod over and over and I laugh with you. It's so much fun to see you!
ReplyDeleteSo funny...I feel like we're on the same page today. I posted about how big God is, and that's what I forget when I doubt. I start to think of me...I..I...not Him! When I have the presence of mind (or the presence of His spirit), I remind myself, "Even the winds and the waves obey Him!" He's big -- He can handle it.
Ok, I LOVE feeling like I've slipped right into your kitchen. And then, just soaking up your words- it's as sweet as sipping a hot cup of coffee with you, friend. Thanks for the authenticity and truth here.
ReplyDeleteIsaiah 26:3 speaks to me today Jen, thank you! patsy
ReplyDeleteHaving internet issues out here in the wild, and your video won't load. :-(
ReplyDeleteI will content myself with the descriptions others have posted of the warmth and wonderfulness you share. :-)
God spoke to me last week in prayers for myself for healing that God was a good Abba Daddy Father...and the enemy had sold me a pack of lies about God's faithfulness. I'm not going to carry the burden anymore!
ReplyDeleteDear Jen
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo precious. I just love your words about being real. Yes, honesty is such a necessity in our walk with our Pappa God!
Much love
Mia
Love!! One of my favorite go-to verses when lies start creeping in is "I can take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ" it reminds me to stop the lies as soon as they start and not let them go any further.
ReplyDeleteAmen! This is the verse I needed today - thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI love your vlog and your witness and your amazing love for God. Great new verse too.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful heart, Jen. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the helpful, inspirational post & for hosting & God bless!
ReplyDeleteHope to meet Isaiah in Heaven someday and that's a verse I cling to.
