List Free Living

I'm trying to unhook myself from living based on my "To Do List".  It robs me of joy.  It makes me focused on things.  I get obsessed with productivity and neglect the process of actual living.  I asked my SDG sisters on our Facebook page if they wanted to join me in the challenge.  This was my first tip:

Linking with Sandra and Deidra this weekend.  Join us for some stillness?

  3. That is a perfectly wonderful first tip. I know He has shown me the same...that lists are to be my servants, not masters- but the reminding is needful. Thanks! Freedom and rest come by trusting Him and His plans for me more than my plan to accomplish everything. His ways are always better.

  4. Joining you in this focal change, for me as well. I have always been a list person thinking that I NEED these to DO all I NEED to do! But in reality, He truly does enable me to do all that He intends for me to do, list or no! Thus, I can gain the beauty of the Lord in each moment and not miss so very much of Him. Praising Him for you, Jen. I needed this today too.

  5. I really liked this photo and 'pinned" it tonight. Yet I think my to do list gives me joy too. I love the sense of accomplishment and checking things off. Also the freedom not to have to remember everything once I have it written down. Is there a down side? certainly. Like you say when we focus too much on it and not on people and embracing those wonderful interruptions. I love the expression: Hold all things lightly. I guess that is where I am with my to do list: have it, but hold it lightly.

Good thoughts Jen. I am looking forward to reading more about this topic

  6. This is good advice for me, too, because I can really rock a to-do list to the exclusion of a to-be list...

  7. I TRY! Do I make it all the time? Sadly, no. I get too side-tracked by what I think must be done TODAY! instead of just turning my heart to Him and asking what He wants done. As I said, TRYING!
