My Shortest Blog Post Ever? (But it's encouraging!)

To every mom who has encouraged her child, fought through tears and arguments rife with words like "I can't do this, Mom! I'm not good enough!" -- there will come a time when your child says something like Abby said to me today: "I have a long overdue 'thank you,' Mom.  Thank you for always encouraging me to swim and for telling me that God gave me a talent and I should use it."

It's a glorious experience. Her words are words of encouragement not just to me, but to you, too.  Never give up doing what God has given you to do for and with your kids. It's worth every fight. Every tear.  Every day you think you've failed.

You are not failing.
Keep up the good fight, girl.

Linking today with Tracy and Emily.

  1. Even though I do not have children of my own, I have been allowed to receive such a precious message by students I have taught, by my sister, by my dear Mama who is in heaven now. Especially her words to me near the end of her life blessed me more than I could have imagine. Thank you for encouraging me this evening too.

  3. Oh, Jen! It's so important to acknowledge and document these moments--raising little altars in celebration of God's faithfulness.

  4. Aren't those moments so special? Great job documenting - so you can return later and remember. And great job encouraging us to keep pressing on! As always. Hugs to you! Love, Michelle

  5. Oh yes...short and encouraging! Moments us moms hold tightly to. My 23 yo son sent me a text earlier this week that simply said, "Hello mother. Just wanted to say love you and have a good day." I'm still smiling! Blessings to you.
